Onsite Wastewater Treatment - Design Basics
Architect Training Course
|
|
Onsite wastewater treatment systems collect, treat, and release about 4 billion gallons of treated effluent per day from an estimated 26 million homes, businesses, and recreational facilities nationwide (U.S. Census Bureau, 1997). These systems include treatment units for both individual buildings and small clusters of buildings connected to a common treatment system. This 4-hour online course presents the design basics of onsite wastewater treatment systems. The material is taken from a recently published EPA document on Onsite Wastewater Treatment. The course also includes a very extensive reference section for use by the student.
This course includes a downloadable Word Document file. There will also be a multiple-choice quiz at the end of this course. At the conclusion of the course, the student will understand: -
The various types of subsurface wastewater systems that can be used for disposal of septic tank effluent -
The factors that affect the hydraulic loading rates, including strength of wastewater, soil type and characteristics. -
The factors that affect the size of the infiltration system (drainfields, leach fields) -
The methods of distributing the effluent into the infiltration system. Course Level: Intermediate Courses offered in association with RedVector and get all the FREE bonus materials below EXCLUSIVELY through ArchitectContinuingEducationOnline.com.
